About ISECT

The "Indian Society of Extra Corporeal Technology" (ISECT) was constituted in 1983 with 13 Founder Members and Registered under Tamil Nadu Societies Act in 1985. This was made possible due to the support and encouragement given by some senior most pioneer Cardiac Surgeons. Shri V.M. Joshi - Mumbai and Shri S. Kuppuswamy - Chennai were founder President and General Secretary respectively. In the year 1984 we got recognition as Perfusionist from Government of India HRD department.

ISECT is the only body representing the perfusion community all over India and is a member of international perfusion/extra corporeal technologists' community. The society issues certificate to its life members. ISECT is the only body to give us identification as "PERFUSIONIST". ISECT has strength of 650 Life Members and around 50 associate life members. The society publishes a journal "Indian Journal of Extra Corporeal Technology".
