Who can consider Perfusion as their profession?

Future of Perfusionists

The ideas of cost containment have slowed the growth and financials of our profession profoundly. Hospital administrations want their perfusionists to become more multi-functional. But from administrators point of view we are just a "highly paid technician" whereas the scenario in Cardiac surgery department is not so. Hospital administration hardly knows what our profession entails on an everyday basis.

The cure for cardiac disease is rapidly changing and role of cardiac surgery in new technology will ultimately determine what will be future of our profession. Our profession thrives on new ideas and technology.
